To be employed in the agricultural engineering industry, you need at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, which is a four-year path. Those who have sufficient knowledge and skills in agricultural machinery, soil science, fertilization, irrigation systems, and crop nutrients, as well as some knowledge of machinery and civil engineering, are most likely to find a job in Australia.

Project Name: Assessment of Different Rice Milling Machines

In the first Career Episode, the author presents a project entitled “Assessment of Different Rice Milling Machines” where she worked as an Agricultural Engineer for two years. Her responsibilities in this project were:

• Hold meetings and determine the scope of the project between project members and subordinates.
• Decided to collect multiple rice samples.
• Designed experimental procedures for various rice samples on the dials of various rice mills.
• Evaluation of various rice mills based on the crushing rate of various types of rice.
• Specifies the milling capacity and efficiency of multiple milling machines.
  recommends best milling practices to farmers and authorizes the purchase of multiple mills.
• Prepare a report and train subordinates to conduct tests and experiments on various mills and agricultural machinery.

Project Name: Adaptation of Dehusking Machines

In the second Career Episode, the author elaborates the project “Adaptation of Dehusking Machines” which she carried out as an Agricultural Engineer of Agricultural Machinery Centre. During this project, her major responsibilities were:

• Design a dehulling machine with the help of AutoCAD and get detailed information about buckwheat and buckwheat husks.
• Designed the hierarchical screening unit of the sheller with the help of AutoCAD.
• Uses various mechanical tools and machines to manufacture separators.
• Prepare samples and execute the shelling procedure to test the machine.
• Check the performance of the machine to find the maximum speed of the shelled buckwheat.
• Evaluate shelled buckwheat and prepare a report.
• Implementation of the bombing machine designed on site.

Project Name: Preparing Strategies of Farm Mechanization Project

In this Career Episode, the author explains her work experience in a project entitled “Preparing Strategies of Farm Mechanization Project” which she executed as Deputy Executive Engineer at Agriculture Machinery Centre (ACM). She performed the following duties:

• Research recent agricultural practices of farmers using farm machinery / demand-based farm machinery and become familiar with them.
• Various solutions, strategies and needs were proposed in the development of the strategic plan.
• Coordinate basic calculations, such as power and work, speed, flow, fuel consumption, etc., to design agricultural machinery and solve problems that arise.
• Test prototype designs with the help of different tools, approve and analyze designs developed in software based on the finite element method.
• Monitor and evaluate research activities related to agricultural machinery at the national level.
• Provide machinery and spare parts according to farmers’ requirements, and ensure timely provision of support services.
• Train leading farmers, private manufacturers and stakeholders on the different technologies used in agricultural machinery, their purpose, benefits and applications.
• Investigate and control the quality of any agricultural machinery imported into the country.
• Formulation and evaluation of various agricultural machinery standards.
• Prepare necessary documents and reports at different stages of the project.
